Background:  Dr. Sabadell is responsible for the Houston-based SAR team, and also serves as the lead for CETC’s soil and sediment remediation research program. The soil and sediment research program has over 15 ongoing projects, ranging from proof of concept university research to field demonstrations of newly developed remediation technologies. He has also developed standards for environmental site assessments, remediation and restoration for upstream and gas asset retirement purposes, works as a subject matter expert for property transfer environmental assessments and excavation project constructability review, as well as providing SAR technical expertise for the corporation. Before joining Chevron, Dr. Sabadell worked for over 20 years as an environmental consultant, the last 8 years as owner of his own firm, addressing soil and ground water contamination issues, including numerous projects and assignments supporting oil and gas clients. He also served as a subject matter expert in support of the US Environmental Center review and assessment of remediation projects throughout the US.
